Blaž Lenček

I'm a photographer, videographer and explorer.

Above all, a visual storyteller using mindful attention to capture life's meaningful moments and the beauty around us.

Portrait

“Every person carries their own story, one of a kind. And that’s what makes us different from each other and also what connects us.”

I started to really understand this when I first picked up a camera. Since then, I meet new faces and new personalities almost every day. Every single time, I’m amazed by how different we all are. Some people are quiet, almost shy. Others are full of energy. Some will make you laugh until your stomach hurts.

That’s what keeps me going. I’m not just taking portraits. I’m trying to capture the real, honest side of each person. I look for those moments when they forget about the camera, when they’re present, relaxed and themselves.

Street & Travel

“The world is huge. Full of secrets, hidden corners, stories I haven’t heard yet. Why wouldn’t I explore it? Why wouldn’t I enjoy it?”

There was always this quiet voice inside me: The world is too big and dangerous. That thought stopped me so many times. I started traveling late. I was looking for one moment, that one experience that would help me step the fear. And I found it! It was Erasmus. In one year, I visited more countries than I’d ever dared to.

That’s when something changed. I started facing my fears and realised they weren’t as scary as I thought. When I took that first step, everything flipped. Now I’m drawn to go out. More and more. To travel. To live differently.

Countryside

“People are running away from the countryside. I used to think the same way. More happening, better opportunities, more life. Right?”

I get it. There’s not much in villages. No future. Like all that’s waiting for you is… silence. And I saw it the same way. Until I stopped. When I started practicing mindfulness, I started seeing differently. The countryside suddenly gave me something cities can’t. Space. Presence. Moments when I can actually stop and breathe.

Now I see that we’re blind to what we have. I was. We keep running after more, while we already have everything right here. Deep awareness of where you are and what you’re living is one of the most powerful things you can have.
